Dr. Walling joined Town Square Dermatology in 2007. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is also a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. He specializes in comprehensive dermatologic care with particular interest in surgery for skin cancer. Mohs surgery is an advanced tissue-sparing technique for treating skin cancer that offers the highest cure rate and an excellent cosmetic result.

Dr. Walling was born and raised in Iowa. He graduated from Grinnell College before completing a combined MD / PhD from Saint Louis University. His doctoral research was in the field of human physiology and molecular biology. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Iowa and then pursued advanced surgical training in West Des Moines, where he practiced before joining Town Square Dermatology.

Dr. Walling is active in several medical organizations and has contributed over three dozen articles to the dermatologic literature. He and his wife Carolyn have two children. They are very happy to be returning to the Iowa City area.
